Postcards for Iran – speak up for the silenced

by Barney on 22 March 2009

Send a postcard to Iran’s government? Why would that be a good thing?

The Iranian government, like all tyrannical regimes, makes great efforts to silence all those it considers unacceptable – activists, dissidents, minorities.

It is all too easy to feel frustrated in the face of the extraordinary cruelty of the Islamic Republic towards its citizens, including religious minorities such as Baha’is.

Don’t just sit there, sit there and do something!

You’re sitting at your computer. Well, you must be, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this!

So open a new browser window and head for Postcards for Iran. Once you’re there you can add your voice in protest with the imprisoned human rights defenders, women activists demanding equality, minorities whose personal properties and holy sites have faced destruction and the thousands whose rights are being violated daily.

How?

You can use the site to send postcards to Iranian officials and to people held in Iran’s jails because of their beliefs or because they stand up for human rights.

Break the silence!

Break the silence surrounding the Iranian government’s human rights abuses.

Call for justice and accountability for those whose rights have been violated.

Send a postcard.
