I’m off to Stockholm tomorrow morning for the weekend. But before that, some more pictures of our recent snow. I took the pics the morning after the snow had fallen.
Stockholm trip
I haven’t been to Stockholm since I was 16 in about 1963. I was part of an exchange of school students that summer. Bo Cöster, [...]

Yes, it’s been cold today, but it came as a shock when Mrs Barnabas drew my attention to the fact that snow was falling in our back garden.
And not only falling, but lying quite thickly.
And not just in the back garden, but in the front yard too!
It’s only October in Hertfordshire! Whatever happened to global [...]

The Universal House of Justice, the world governing council of the Bahá’í community, has sent the UK National Spiritual Assembly a moving tribute to the late Betty Reed.
We grieve at the news of the passing of stalwart, devoted maidservant of Bahá’u’lláh Betty Reed. Her decades of sacrificial labour for the Cause of God in the [...]

I was saddened to learn this morning that Betty Reed, one of the redoubtable figures of my early Bahá’í life, had passed away in the early hours.
Betty was Secretary of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the British Isles when I became a Bahá’í in February 1966 and she signed my first Bahá’í [...]

A 24 October 2008 press release from the Bahá’í International Community’s UN Office in New York reveals that an Iranian “inspector and legal advisor” who was asked to re-examine the 2006 arrests of a group of young Bahá’ís in Shiraz, Iran, filed a confidential report dated June 2008 confirming what Bahá’ís have said all along: [...]

All too many of the inter-faith meetings I attend are “business” meetings – more to do with the business of keeping inter-faith organizations going than with the heart of inter-faith. And what is that heart?
St Ethelburga’s
Yesterday I sat with a small group of people, embraced in the spiritual peace of St Ethelburga’s – a church [...]

A new Baha’i blog has hit the web.
Changing Times is a smart new blog allied to the annual Changing Times conferences in the Czech Republic. I highly recommend a visit to the blog – and perhaps to the conference as well.

Worth Abbey is set in in beautiful Sussex countryside, not far from Crawley. That’s where Mrs Barnabas and I went yesterday for an inter-faith gathering in the Unity Room, which is part of the Abbey Church building.
The gathering was one of the regular Faiths in Sussex events at Worth Abbey.
My faith, our world
I was one [...]

I’m ashamed of myself. I failed to post on Blog Action Day!
Now, I’m sure that the absence of a post by me on any day of the year about eliminating poverty isn’t going to make a whole heap of a difference to the world’s poor. But I had made a commitment and I should have [...]

After a wonderful week at the Baha’i World Centre, I shall be returning from a warm (if somewhat humid) Haifa to a much cooler London tomorrow. Then it will be back to the old routine and some time to write a blog post or two.
