Dear Barney
Thanks for keeping us up to date with these events happening in Iran. Its really very disturbing to see these baseless allegations made by the Iranian authorities against the, and speaking as a Bahai but with a totally objective opinion on what the Bahai faith is all about, innocent Bahai brothers and sisters in Iran. I work with some of these Bahais and it has an almost personal sting when i hear these preposterous lies made against them.
I hope the international community takes note and responds accordingly. Also, i would like to point out that these allegations do nothing to help the views of the outside world on Iran and further show the world some of the inhumanities that the Iranian authorities are capable of.
Thanks
Ashiyan
“Below is an approximate summary translation of the words of a very moving song, recently received from Baha’i youth in Iran (if you have Persians in your community, perhaps they can translate it better). This is followed by some quotes from the Writings about the future of Iran, which can give us some consolation as we remember the Friends in the cradle of our beloved Faith, in our prayers.”

“Even if they take our very last breath,
Even if 100,000 of us die,
We will still sing together, singing a song of flight.
This melody will never be forgotten,
The flame of the love of Baha can in no way ever be extinguished.
New flowers will be coming out in the caring fields of our country,
with such a perfume that the whole world will be delighted by it.
Once again the clouds of mercy will shower over this land, again and again,
And it will be spring-time forever…
They say that life is so hard in this catastrophe,
They do not know - this hardship is like snow on trees…
Once again at spring-time the water will flow, the sky will be blue,
And the land filled with flowers…
The sound of birds’ wings will be heard again,
And no-one will put arrows in their bows again.
If you stay here for some more days and sing along with this melody,
You will see, with your own eyes, groups and groups of Lovers…
See them with your own eyes, at this spring-time.”

Tomaz, many thanks for the translation of the song from the Bahá’í youth in Iran. It certainly touches my heart.
