Happy Ridván!
Happy Ridván to everyone!
Ridván is the king of Bahá’í festivals, celebrating Bahá’u'lláh’s declaration of His mission in the Najibiyyih Garden across the Tigris from Baghdad.
Like local Bahá’í communities across the world, our community in the Hertfordshire town of Welwyn elected its Local Spiritual Assembly, its local governing council. We even managed to elect our Local Assembly officers, since all members of the newly elected Assembly were present.
Next week, members of National Spiritual Assemblies (Bahá’í national governing councils) from all over the world will travel to the Bahá’í World Centre in Haifa, Israel, to participate in the election of the Universal House of Justice, the community’s world governing council.
Yours truly will be one of those privileged to take part in this glorious gathering.

Do have a safe journey, I too pray that one day I will be able to visit Baha’u'llah’s and the Bab’s resting places. However, with my current health, this is still but a yearning dream.

Some of my family is also going there, and I will try to get from them some information about it, because this event — the most important of them all — I truly believe, is a blessing upon those who get to be there and most of us shall never even dream about it. So, please, know that any sharing will be mostly welcomed.

I will certainly share whatever I can of the experience. I may not be able to do this while I’m away. I shall not be taking my laptop, so it will depend if I can find a cybercafe and have time to write. If I can’t do this during my week in Haifa, I will write when I come back,.
