I have many Jewish friends, some of whom are Holocaust survivors or the children of Holocaust survivors or who came here on the kindertransports. They help us keep the memory of that appalling episode in European (and, indeed, world) history alive. Knowing what we humans are capable of may (just) help us avoid repeating history, although sad to say there have been a number of genocides in different parts of the world since the end of the Second World War. It is equally important that the world governments and people of the world not forget what happened in Europe during World War II. Many people in this world are not old enough to remember the Holocoust. We must continue to keep this terrible injustice before the face of every person in the World. It is only by the study of history that we are able to keep from falling into the same pits of darkness. Thank you for allowing comments.
