Beautiful Hertfordshire autumn

Sunken way towards Harmergreen Woods

We’ve been having some glorious weather in the south of England over the past few days. I took advantage of the sun yesterday to walk out into the countryside a short distance from our door. (I’m under doctor’s orders to take 30 minutes of aerobic exercise per day for the sake of my heart!0

Yeah, I think a short walk doesn’t count as aerobic exercise; I’m sure leotards in the style of the Green Goddess are involved, Barney.

Man, what I would pay for a photo of you looking like that! :D

Beautiful! We’ve been having great weather too, being just up the road from you – but no hope of enjoying it as I am glued to the computer!

Love,
Wendi

Toby, I walked hard for at least half an hour. The other half hour I was out I kept stopping to take pics. My heart rate was up and I worked up a light sweat. Leotards? Certainly not!

Wendi, take a few moments away from the computer to enjoy the sun!

Hello from Canmore, 20 km East of Banff, Alberta, Canada. Our autumn is nearing its end. Many of the golden aspen leaves have fluttered to the ground and there is a dusting of snow on the mountains. Life is good and beautiful. I would love to smell the air in Hertfordshire.

Barney,

Thank you. For the first time in more than fifty years I cannot get out into the autumn woods; however, your photos offered me cues to memories that served almost as well as the crackling of crisp leaves underfoot.

Stay well,
Reed

Reed, it’s good to hear from you. I’m sorry that you are unable to get out into the autumn woods this year and I am glad my photos have cued memories of past walks.

You can find more of these pics here.
