I’ve no doubt some readers are curious to see how some people have changed since the 1960s. Here are just a few “then and now” pics.
Shahram Mottahed is third from left in the upper picture, which shows members of the UK Baha’i National Youth Committee walking down London’s Rutland Gate in about 1968. The lower picture shows Shahram as he was last weekend.

The upper picture shows (left to right) Najla Baghdadi, Peter Moore and yours truly at the Italian summer school in 1966 (the year I became a Baha’i in Cambridge). The middle picture shows Peter now. (He’s the distinguished-looking cove on the right.) The bottom picture shows me on a bridge over the River Rhone in Geneva earlier this year.
Finally, just for a laugh, here are Erica and myself during a teaching trip to Cork in the Republic of Ireland in 1969 or 1970.

I think the phrase is “dashing young chap”. How is my English Barney?
Hmmm, puts me in mind of my favourite grey cord trousers with purple satin flares. Often worn under a gold satin mini-dress. Those were the days!
Excellent English, Phillipe! And a very good assessment of the young Barney.
On the other hand, Tess, perhaps you’re right. We did wear some strange ensembles in those days. Erica is wearing my Persian sheepskin jacket (poosteen), which smelled to high heaven, but was warm!
Cute. I like the last photo.
It is amazing how much we change! After all, it is evolution!
