My course for Baha’is who want to learn the basics of blogging begins this evening in the Liverpool Baha’i Centre. As I’ve prepared for it, I’ve discovered an almost unimaginable wealth of material on the internet – mostly in blogs – about blogging. How to write a blog. How to market your blog. How to attract readers. How to keep your readers. And so on.
It all makes me realize how little I know about blogging – and I am presuming to teach others. Oh well, they say that the teacher learns more than the students! I shall regard myself (in good Baha’i fashion) as a learner who is just that bit further along the track than the people I’m hoping to help.
I hope to have time to post a couple of entries from the course.

There’s definitely tons out there about writing blogs. It’s funny to think that three or four years ago, almost no one knew what a blog was. I always think it’s important for the writer to be themselves on the blog, to not be a caricature of a blogger. Hope your class goes well.
The number and the quality of baha’i blogs increased a lot during the past two years.
Thanks, Liz. You are right about how quickly the whole field has developed and spread. And I wholeheartedly agree about the need for the writer to be themselves in their blog.
I’ll be posting from the course.
Thanks, Marco. The Baha’i presence on the internet in general and in the blogosphere in particular has really rocketed. Baha’i presence on social sites, such as Facebook, has increased dramatically in recent months.
I’m on the course! It’s great! Too bad it is only one weekend – I want to do the follow-up course – soon!
Love,
Wendi
You go Barney, and Liz are you following me around the blogsphere or what?
Barney, I could not even pretend to be able to teach anyone else about the art of blogging. You’re an inspiration, but I will leave it to the experts!
Now back to my humble efforts to say something meaningful without embarrassing myself!
Phillipe, you are too modest. Now, I have plenty to be modest about!
The course went very well – I’ll write about it once I’ve recovered (I had to drive over 200 miles in each direction to and from Liverpool).
We got four blogs up and running and two more are in prospect.
