Life changes – further developments

by Barney on 21 May 2007

I’ve been really touched by the many loving comments and emails I’ve received following my Life Changes post on 1 May. (Most of the comments came as emails as I had turned off the comments while I was at Convention and hadn’t turned them back on.)

I feel that a brief update is in order. At its first full meeting after Convention our National Spiritual Assembly decided that I should continue to serve in one particular area of external affairs (probably the one that best suits my skills and temperament) so as to ensure necessary continuity in the work.

Meantime our new Secretary for External Affairs is hatching some very exciting external affairs plans to extend our ability to influence processes in the UK towards world peace and to bring Baha’u'llah’s principles to bear on the needs of humankind in areas such as human rights, the status of women, global prosperity and moral development.

I’m looking forward to the coming year.

That is good news
I really admire how you coped with such a big change – you are dealing with this far better than I am about my comparatively minor setback in plans/hopes.

Good luck with the next stage – I hope you get a new career(s) that you enjoy and which gives you satisfaction.

Many thanks, Tig. I’ve got some ideas that I hope will work out and provide stimulating work and reasonable income.

Hello Barney,

What a wonderful post, I just wanted to belatedly congratulate you on your change in position, I can’t imagine the God-given opportunities it must have presented at the time but the admirable attitude which you posted on your blog seems more than ample testimony to your record of service to the Bahai Faith continuing unabated, if not with renewed zeal .

I’m a British Baha’i myself and have been out pioneering in Korea for the past 7 years so I love popping in on your blog to keep up with what’s happening in the UK. I have to say your new template looks fantastic and posts seem to have developed a personal edge which makes for some really great blog reading.

Keep up the wonderful work and warmest regards from myself and all the Bahai’s here in Korea, may God bless,

Kindest Regards,
Jeremy

Hi, Jeremy. I’m most grateful to you for your very kind comments on my blogging. I think it is important to have a personal edge, as you say. That’s what I enjoy about blogging.

I hope all is well and exciting in Korea.

With warmest greetings
–Barney
